About

Hi! I’m Sara and my boyfriend Shadoe and I are a self proclaimed EcoCouple. For the past 2 years we’ve been working towards achieving a more sustainable life. What does that mean for us? Well we’ve been saving up to buy our very own house or land on which we can create our dream home completely off the grid and powered by natural resources. While this is hard in a climate like the one we have in Canada we hope it can be done!

In the mean time we try to be as eco-conscious as possible. We eat local/organic when possible including growing our own food. I’m pretty much responsible for all things food wise in our home. We eat Vegetarian 99% of the time and homemade as much as possible to reduce our environmental footprint. We both work outside the home and since we live on an acreage outside of a small town carpooling or public transportation is sadly not available. One day I hope to live somewhere where biking everywhere year round is possible! Shadoe is a carpenter which means he can build pretty much anything and does! We’ve made or refinished a majority of the furniture in our house from recycled materials.

I started this blog to document our progress, our challenges and adventures with anything sustainability minded. From preserving veggies, making vegan cheese, and sharing vegetarian recipes to backyard chickens and DIY everything.

When we’re not dreaming about our future plans we like to enjoy the outdoors. We love hiking, biking, snowboarding and any activities that allow us to get close to nature and wildlife so you’ll most likely see a lot of that on here too 🙂
